What is a Drum Kit?
Drum kits are arguably the most used percussion instruments
in modern music. A drum set is formed by a few different percussion elements
and went through many changes until it became established in the modern era,
making it possible to add more elements over time, depending on favorite
musical styles.
Drum kits are very complex instruments, consisting of
several types of drums and accessories operated by a single person. This
musician is called “drummer”. The components of the kit are placed in front of the
drummer (who sits on a chair), or on their sides, in a standard structure that
allows the simultaneous operation of up to four percussions.
Drummers use their hands and feet (soles) to operate the
component instruments. The hands can hold sticks, brushes or operate barely, while
the soles operate 2-3 or even more pedals.
Components of a drum kit:
·
drums (membranophone instruments)
·
two membranes - one of which is actuated and the
other has a resonance role)
·
cymbals (metallic discs fixed on a stand and
operated with sticks, by a pedal or even by hand)
·
various other instruments, according to the preference
of the drummer and the type of music played. If you are interested in purchasing a drum kit, or any musical instrument, you can research and buy used musical instruments online at economical prices.
