What Kinds of Guitars are There?

There are three basic types of guitars, namely acoustic, electric and bass guitars. But in each of these three groups there are many variations. Acoustic guitars are the most largely and commonly used. They are built with hollow bodies, which have the role of acoustically amplifying the sounds produced with the help of the strings.

There are several types of acoustic strings. Some are made of steel, and work best for rock, folk, blues and country music. Other acoustic guitars are equipped with nylon strings, and are ideal for flamenco and classical guitars.
