What Kinds of Guitars are There?
There are three basic types of guitars, namely acoustic, electric and bass guitars. But in each of these three groups there are many variations. Acoustic guitars are the most largely and commonly used. They are built with hollow bodies, which have the role of acoustically amplifying the sounds produced with the help of the strings.
There are several
types of acoustic strings. Some are made of steel, and work best for rock,
folk, blues and country music. Other acoustic guitars are equipped with nylon
strings, and are ideal for flamenco and classical guitars.
Most acoustic guitars have 6 strings, others have 12 strings. When you are looking for used guitars for sale, know that acoustic guitars are perfect for beginners and are not recommended for those who are interested in really heavy solos.
Electric guitars have really strong bodies and do not produce too much sound unless they are plugged to an amplifier. Bass guitars only have four strings and produce a really big sound. However, it is important to note here that bass guitars are not recommended for people who want to perform solos. In fact, this particular type of guitars is perfect for those who want to play in a band and make the best kind of music if used on stage.
