Searching for Guitars for Beginners
Set up your budget. As a beginner, you will need a smaller
budget especially if you focus on used guitars. Ask your friends if they have
one that they do not use anymore, or check the stocks of the stores that practice
the buy-back system. An expensive guitar does not necessarily mean a good
guitar.
Search for. Find someone close to you who knows how to play
the guitar and ask what types and brands of used guitars for sale to look for, and which ones
to avoid.
Decide. You have to decide if you want to play an acoustic
guitar, or an electric guitar. Here the decision will depend on the style you
want to approach.
Buy. Always try the guitar before you purchase it, to
evaluate the quality of its sound. If you do not do this you will make a huge
mistake, not very easy to repair. Eventually, ask a friend who knows how to
play guitar to accompany you to the stores you want to visit and help you make
decisions easier.
Shopping online is the last option. If you are a beginner,
your musical ear may not recognize the quality of subtle tones, so if you cannot
test it, do not buy it. This is probably one of the most important things you
need to keep in mind.
