Different Types of Drums
You can find many types of drums and percussion instruments
on the market. If you are in the category of the beginners and want to learn
how to play drums, we advise you to choose a complete set that you only have to
install it and you can start playing.
If you want to practice at home without disturbing your
neighbors, buy electronic used drum sets. These allow you to making a minimal
sound when playing, as opposed to the acoustic drums.
Also, if you are more interested in percussion instruments
with a more intimate character, we recommend the Cajón. This as a popular
percussion instrument which manages to mimic the sound of the bass drum, it is
relatively compact and a beginner can use it with ease.
The musical instruments in the drums section can be divided
into three basic categories:
Acoustic drums
A common set of drums consists of the following:
·
Bass drum
·
Snare drum
·
Tom tom
·
Floor tom
·
Cymbals
Electronic percussion
Electronic percussion instruments belong to the category of
classical percussion sets – so there are also bass drums, cymbals, tom tom etc.
The main advantage is that you can connect headphones to them and exercise
without disturbing anyone.
Percussion
instruments
In the family of percussion instruments, all the acoustic
instruments that do not fall into the category of classical drums/ percussion
are included: ethnic drums, scrapers and melodic percussion instruments such as
djembe drums, bonga, conga, cajon as well as drums, tambourine, triangles,
vibraphone etc.
