How to Keep Your Used Guitar in Good Shape
The peace playing a musical instrument can bring, is
unparalleled. However, the beauty of music does not come easy and, for a
musician, maintaining a musical instrument is a regular routine, and the guitar
is no exception from this treatment.
Here are some simple recommendations.
Classical guitars are made of several types of wood and each
essence behaves differently in humid conditions and/ or temperature
differences. The wood can be severely affected by temperature differences.
Dilatations and contractions will irreversibly affect the sound of a classic
guitar. You can look for classic guitars and all kinds of used instruments in Colorado Springs.
To protect your used instrument, you must store it in your
room and treat it as a living body, because if it is cold, it will be affected
by the cold; if there is a high level of humidity, the wood will not “breathe”
properly… When transporting your instrument, make sure you use a guitar case or
a cover that provides comfort and thermal insulation.
If you used body oil, deodorant or cream, wipe the guitar
after each use, with a soft, solvent-free cloth. These substances, along with
the sweat from your hands must be removed from the fret.
Do not forget that for a classical noble wood guitar you likely
paid an important amount of money. With the passage of time this acquisition
can become an investment, if you take care of your instrument.
