What to do when Your Guitar String Breaks
When your guitar string breaks, you must replace it with a
new one of the same type. Here's a small guide for those who do not know how to
proceed.
Step 1
- Loosen progressively the string by rotating the
corresponding key then deploy it from the tuning peg positioned on the guitar
head. Remove the other end of the string from the bridge by removing the pin
that has held it up to now.
Step 2
- Unfold a new string from the package, (make sure it has
the same tone or number as the previous one). Insert about an inch into the
hole in the deck with the end that has a small ball. Insert the pin so that the
rope sits in its groove, then gently push it all the way.
- With your right hand, hold the pin in place as you slowly
pull the string to the neck of the guitar. If you feel the pin rises while you
pull the string, push it back in.
Step 3
- Draw the string to the head of the guitar, then insert it
into the channel of the tuning peg and bend it 90 degrees, counter clockwise.
Step 4
- It is time to tighten the string: place it in the groove
of the nut and hold it with your right hand while turning the donning spanner counter
clockwise with the left one. The string must always be wrapped under the nail
hole, just like a spool.
Step 5
- Turn the key until the string gets the right tension
- Uses a tuner to get it to the right tone.
