What are the Different Types of Guitars?
The type of guitar you choose will greatly influence the style
of music you are going to play. Technically speaking, there are a variety of
guitars, but there are only two major types: acoustic and electric.
·
Acoustic guitar
-
With nylon strings (also called classic guitar)
If you want to learn to play classic guitar then you will
find that most of the classical music is composed for this type of guitar, with
nylon strings. The passion of flamenco and other genres of Spanish music are created
on classic guitars.
-
With iron strings
This type of guitar allows it to be used for more genres and
represents a good choice to start your journey in music. Many people prefer
these acoustic guitars with iron strings due to the fact that the volume of the
sound is higher than the sound produced by a classic guitar.
·
Electric guitar
Most beginner guitar players are eager to get their hands on
an electric guitar, because they produce those spectacular and noisy solos. Compared
with the acoustic guitar, an electric guitar has a heavier body (which is made
of solid wood) and is amplified electronically.
Other types of
guitars
·
Electro-acoustic guitar
As its name suggests, this guitar is a combination of the
two major types mentioned above;;; we are talking about an acoustic guitar that
can be connected to an electronic amplifier.
·
Ukulele
·
Bass guitar
·
Electric bass guitar
