How to Keep Your Love of Playing Music Alive As You Age

If you have studied music in your teenage years and have been passionate about playing your instrument as a young adult, but the stress of everyday life seems to have taken that passion away from you, so much so that you haven’t even looked at your violin, cello, guitar or piano for a long time, here are some tips to revive your passion for playing music and to keep it alive, too:

music appreciation

-        Allocate time – paradoxically, many of us need strong will to get out of the endless cycle of going to work and tending to household chores. Try to choose an afternoon during the week that you spend dusting your guitar or piano and playing some music – you will quickly get back into practice and even if the first notes that you play sound strange, you will soon start really enjoying your own music;
-        Start going to concerts again – go and see your favorite musicians live if you can or find a great local bar where you can listen to live music every now and then – it is a great way to unwind and to enjoy music;
-        Listen to music – we all have periods in our life when we are so absorbed in our daily hassle that we don’t even listen to music. Spend some time listening to your favorite songs or tunes – it will help you keep up your love of playing music as well.
-    Look for top notch used instruments in Colorado Springs if you are interested in learning to play something new to inspire your music passion!
