Advantages of Joining a Band
Many people - amateur and professional musicians alike -
reach a point in their life when they think about joining a band. For most,
this is not easy and may never actually happen after all, but it doesn't mean
to give up. Playing in a band can be great, no matter if you do it just for fun,
or if you actually have greater ambitions.
First, you will have the chance to do what you love (playing
an instrument and/ or singing) with a group of like-minded people. The time
spent together in such a context is typically full of creativity and fun. Ringo
Starr used to say that when he joined The Beatles, he felt like he had three
brothers.
Being in touch with other musicians will also inspire you to
become better, to try new techniques, develop your artistic culture etc.
On the other hand, there may be also a few cons about
joining a band. First, you may enter into a group of people that have a history
together and you will have to find ways to fit in. This is not always easy,
considering that you may also encounter individuals with personal issues. At
least as long as you are considered a new member, your opinion and your input may
not count that much.
If you are interested in searching for a place in a band, show up for rehearsals with the best instruments possible. Look to buy used musical instruments online for spectacular prices.
